SmartDwelling II

SmartDwelling II, otherwise known as Casita Verde, was conceived by Steve and Wanda Mouzon as a critique of the competition program that spawned it. Purporting to be sustainable, the program developed by two highly admirable organizations was precisely the sort of thing typically spawned by today’s Gizmo Green mentality, and actually flew in the face of the best ways of building green naturally. Designed for an income-challenged family in the Dallas metro region, this home is several hundred square feet smaller than the program called for, and handles its conditioning naturally except on the most extreme days of the years. It also fosters the production of a substantial amount of food onsite.
